WASHINGTON STATE, USA - MARCH 2009

Life is an Adventure.

FILMING FOR THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL'S 'RAGING PLANET - BLIZZARD'.

Drama reconstruction of the experience of Canada's North Shore Rescue Team in a Blizzard on Mount Logan. Mount Logan is the highest mountain in Canada and towers up from the Yukon. It was too dangerous for us to return to the location for filming and so we took advantage of all the snow that Mount St Helens National Park offered us.
Production Meeting in the snow! Panic to get our snow gear on - it wasn't snowing like this at the bottom of the road. With elevation came more snow than I'd ever seen before!
And so filming began.

Every good shoot should have a mascot like Smokey the park ranger!

Considering it took 2 men to get the snow machine on to my shoulders I do wonder how they trusted me to operate it at all!

This shoot was incredibly intense and stressful for so many reasons - shooting up a mountain with no cell signal, uncontrollable amounts of snow continuously falling, health and safety paperwork coming out of my ears, a massive team of art directors, runners, make up artists, machine operators..... And all this was after arriving at our original location 6 hours north to find that there wasn't any snow!

And after all of that.... on we went to Utah to do it all again!
